Welcome to the website of Rhonda M. Tallnash who is an award-winning Australian Bush Poet and children's books author. Rhonda became involved in the world of Australian Bush Poetry by releasing her first book in the children's book series 'Plucky Pets' in Australia in August 2006. 'Beware of Lulu' is a witty rhyming book, beautifully illustrated by Vasja Koman, about the adventures of a pet sheep who fancies herself as a guard dog. Since then six more books have been released and the seventh, 'No Cars for Jess', the third in the 'Cranky Contraptions Series' was released in late 2010. A number of the books are now out of print however they are gradually becoming available in e-format on this website.
Rhonda's introduction into winning awards came about by performing her quirky prequel story about 'our' Ned entitled 'Fair Dinkum Ned' in Australian Bush Poetry Performance Competitions. This is a tall tale about that famous Aussie before he became a true blue bushranger. This very popular book sold out of its first and second edition and was reprinted again in early 2011. In 2012 Rhonda won 'The Jack Riley Heritage Award' for Original 'Banjo's Country' Poem in the National Bush Poetry Championships (Original Performance Section) for 'Fair Dinkum Ned'. The performance can be viewed on You Tube.
Rhonda is available for school visits which highlight both her children's books and Australian Bush Poetry. She is also available for performance and guest speaker engagements in clubs and for corporate events.
